An open letter to the world community:
" I say we had better look our nation searchingly in the
face, like a physician diagnosing some deep
disease." --Walt Whitman, "Democratic
Vistas"
Now we have come the End of the colonial
experiment known as the "United States of America." It has ended as the founders
had warned it would likely end, with concentration of wealth, corruption, and
despotism despoiling its democratic foundations. Unfortunately, it has also
ended with madmen and criminals holding an arsenal of planet-scorching weapons,
a black-hole of an economy sucking down the world, and a murderous culture bent
on revenge.
As a child of this colonial republic, a veteran of its
military, a keeper of the flame of rebellion, I now see no hope of recovery for
a dead horse poisonously floating down stream. America has been infected,
subverted, polluted, corrupted, plundered, stolen by corporate raiders and
warmongers. Its elections have been hacked, hijacked and sidetracked with
partisan smears and lies, failed technology, and corrupted media. It has become
mired in manipulations of terror, invasions and occupations of distant lands,
and endless bloody warfare. It has been seized by the most hated men in history,
with designs on running it into the ground while swindling the last of its
treasure.
Therefore, I encourage the people of
the world to resist this deadly corrupted regime at every turn. Challenge its
false preachments of democracy. Boycott its bloody dollars. Invade it with
music, media and magic. Shame us the way we deserve to be shamed. Do not allow
your executives to support this war machine and its campaigns of extermination.
Testify to the true Christian values opposed to murder, torture, theft and
arrogance, which is what keeps the Bush regime afloat.
To my fellow Americans, I ask you to hold on to your
principles, your power, your ideals. Do not sell your soul to the devils of
terror and murder, regardless of how patriotically it is packaged. Do not see me
as your enemy, but as your most idealistic countryman. I am not an alien
occupying your outlands, I am not stealing your children's inheritance, I am not
setting the world on fire in your name. I am telling you that this experiment
called "America" can only exist with truth, justice, and inalienable power
vested in the People. When elections fail utterly, impeachment must be carried
out. It is our civic duty, and the last hope for survival.
Democracy wasn't meant to be sold to
the highest bidder, wrenched away by the most ruthless backstabbers and liars,
or given to wealthy media moguls as a plaything. Democracy isn't meant to be
"tyranny of the majority," as it has become in a hatefully divided America
today. Democracy should reflect the representative values of the society in
which it exists, not be imposed as vengeful "victory" of a vocal and reactive
minority. America's democracy has been broken, becoming a hulking monstrosity
threatening the entire world.
The Bush regime's (alleged) "victory" is not America's
victory. The only thing America won is greater scorn and shame, corruption and
death, all laced with terror. What we have lost is our legitimacy, our respect,
our ideals, our peace of mind, our hopes and our treasures. All given to an
arrogant, sawed-off son of a spymaster with a fake cowboy accent and his
calculating cronies. Oh yes, and the Bin Ladens.
One last torch to pass in the dark: Anyone well-versed
in psychological warfare should clearly have keyed in that Bush and Bin Laden
are coordinating their assault on the world. Do you think a strategist such as
Osama Bin Laden would suddenly appear at a critical "surprise" turning point and
tell Americans not to vote for Bush, if he didn't want them to do just that?
Think about it, America, that well-timed video was as golden to Bush's future as
all the treasure squandered on smear campaigns, and as crucial to his gaining
power as the 9-11 attacks.
They've been mining the nationalist playbook "My
Struggle," written by another sawed-off, power-mad little man a generation ago.
And remember it's always the "good" religious people that carry out these
campaigns of terror, extermination, and vengeance, allegedly with the blessings
of their "God." Beheadings for God, death camps for God, satellite-directed
nuclear bombs for God, what's the difference in the End?
Listen to the Planet crying. Your
children deserve a true Revolution today-- don't delay!
"Your enemy is not surrounding your country. Your enemy is
ruling your country."

GOD HELP AMERICA
THE PEOPLE HAVE
SPOKEN
The Daily Mirror UK
THEY say that in life you get what you deserve. Well, today
America has deservedly got a lawless cowboy to lead them further into carnage
and isolation and the unreserved contempt of most of the rest of the
world.
This once-great country has pulled up its drawbridge for
another four years and stuck a finger up to the billions of us forced to share
the same air. And in doing so, it has shown itself to be a fearful,
backward-looking and very small nation.
This should have been the day when Americans finally answered
their critics by raising their eyes from their own sidewalks and looking outward
towards the rest of humanity.
And for a few hours early yesterday, when the exit polls
predicted a John Kerry victory, it seemed they had.
But then the horrible, inevitable truth hit home. They had
somehow managed to re-elect the most devious, blinkered and reckless leader ever
put before them. The Yellow Rogue of Texas.
A self-serving, dim-witted, draft-dodging, gung-ho little
rich boy, whose idea of courage is to yell: "I feel good," as he unleashes an
awesome fury which slaughters 100,000 innocents for no other reason than greed
and vanity.
A dangerous chameleon, his charming exterior provides cover
for a power-crazed clique of Doctor Strangeloves whose goal is to increase
America's grip on the world's economies and natural resources.
And in foolishly backing him, Americans have given the
go-ahead for more unilateral pre-emptive strikes, more world instability and
most probably another 9/11.
Why else do you think bin Laden was so happy to scare them to
the polls, then made no attempt to scupper the outcome?
There's only one
headline in town today, folks: "It Was Osama Wot Won It." And soon he'll expect
pay-back. Well, he can't allow Bush to have his folks whoopin' and a-hollerin'
without his own getting a share of the fun, can he?
Heck, guys, I hope you're feeling proud today.
To the tens of millions who voted for John Kerry, my
commiserations.
To the overwhelming majority of you who didn't, I simply ask:
Have you learnt nothing? Do you despise your own image that much?Do you care so
little about the world beyond your shores? How could you do this to
yourselves?
How appalling must one man's record at home and abroad be for
you to reject him?
Kerry wasn't the best presidential candidate the Democrats
have ever fielded (and he did deserve a kicking for that "reporting for doo-dee"
moment) but at least he understood the complexity of the world outside America,
and domestic disgraces like the 45 million of his fellow citizens without health
cover.
He would have done something to make that country fairer
and re-connected it with the wider world.
Instead America chose a man without morals or vision. An
economic incompetent who inherited a $2billion surplus from Clinton, gave it in
tax cuts to the rich and turned the US into the world's largest debtor
nation.
A man who sneers at the rights of other nations. Who has withdrawn
from international treaties on the environment and chemical
weapons.
A man who flattens sovereign states then hands the rebuilding
contracts to his own billionaire party backers.
A man who promotes trade protectionism and backs an Israeli
government which continually flouts UN resolutions.
America has chosen a menacingly immature buffoon who likened
the pursuit of the 9/11 terrorists to a Wild West, Wanted Dead or Alive man-hunt
and, during the Afghanistan war, kept a baseball scorecard in his drawer,
notching up hits when news came through of enemy deaths.
A RADICAL Christian fanatic who decided the world was made up
of the forces of good and evil, who invented a war on terror, and thus as author
of it, believed he had the right to set the rules of engagement.
Which translates to telling his troops to do what the hell
they want to the bad guys. As he has at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and countless
towns across Iraq.
You have to feel sorry for the millions of Yanks in the big
cities like New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco
who voted to kick him out.
These are the sophisticated side of the electorate who
recognise a gibbon when they see one.
As for the ones who put him in, across the Bible Belt and the
South, outsiders can only feel pity.
Were I a Kerry voter, though, I'd feel deep anger, not only
at them returning Bush to power, but for allowing the outside world to lump us
all into the same category of moronic muppets.
The self-righteous, gun-totin', military lovin', sister
marryin', abortion-hatin', gay-loathin', foreigner-despisin', non-passport
ownin' red-necks, who believe God gave America the biggest dick in the world so
it could urinate on the rest of us and make their land "free and
strong".
You probably won't be surprised to learn of would-be Oklahoma
Republican Senator Tom Coburn who, on Tuesday, promised to ban abortion and
execute any doctors who carried them out.
He also told voters that lesbianism is so rampant in the
state's schools that girls were being sent to toilets on their own. Not that any
principal could be found to back him up.
These are the people who hijack the word patriot and liken
compassion to child-molesting. And they are unknowingly bin Laden's chief
recruiting officers.
Al-Qaeda's existence is fuelled by the outpourings of
America's Christian right. Bush is its commander-in-chief. And he and bin Laden
need each other to survive.
Both need to play Lex Luther to each others' Superman with
their own fanatical people. Maybe that's why the mightiest military machine ever
assembled has failed to catch the world's most wanted man.
Or is the reason simply that America is incompetent? That
behind the bluff they are frightened and clueless, which is why they've stayed
with the devil they know.
VISITORS from another planet watching this election would
surely not credit the amateurism.
The queues for hours to register a tick; the 17,000 lawyers needed
to ensure there was no cheating; the $1.2bn wasted by parties trying to
discredit the enemy; the allegations of fraud, intimidation and dirty tricks;
the exit polls which were so wildly inaccurate; an Electoral College voting
system that makes the Eurovision Song Contest look like a beacon of democracy
and efficiency; and the delays and the legal wrangles in announcing the
victor.
Yet America would have us believe theirs is the finest
democracy in the world. Well, that fine democracy has got the man it deserved.
George W Bush.
But is America safer today without Kerry in charge? A man who
overnight would have given back to the UN some credibility and authority. Who
would have worked out the best way to undo the Iraq mess without fear of losing
face.
Instead, the questions facing America today are - how many
more thousands of their sons will die as Iraq descends into a new Vietnam? And
how many more Vietnams are on the horizon now they have given Bush the mandate
to go after Iran, Syria, North Korea or Cuba...?
Today is a sad day for the world, but it's even sadder for
the millions of intelligent Americans embarrassed by a gung-ho leader and backed
by a banal electorate, half of whom still believe Saddam Hussein was behind
9/11.
Yanks had the chance to show the world a better way this
week, instead they made a thuggish cowboy ride off into the sunset bathed in
glory.
And in doing so it brought Armageddon that little bit closer
and re-christened their beloved nation The Home Of The Knave and the Land Of The
Freak.
God Help America.

AN OPEN LETTER TO GEORGE
BUSH
From Cindy Sheehan at SCINDY121@aol.com
Military
Families Speak Out www.mfso.org
November
4, 2004
Dear George,
You don’t mind if I call you George do you?
When you sent me a letter
offering your condolences on the death of my son,
Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan, in the
illegal and unjust war on Iraq, you called
me Cindy, so I naturally assume we
are on a first name basis.
George,
it has been seven months today since your reckless and wanton foreign
policies killed my son, my big boy, my hero, my best-friend: Casey. It has
been seven months since your ignorant and arrogant lack of planning for the
peace murdered my oldest child. It has been two days since your dishonest
campaign
stole another election…but you all were way more subtle this time
than in
2000, weren’t you? You hardly had to get the Supreme Court of the
United States
involved at all this week.
You feel so proud of
yourself for betraying the country again, don’t you? You
think you are very
clever because you pulled the wool over the eyes of some
of the people
again. You think that you have some mandate from God…that you
can “spend
your political capital” any way that you want. George you don’t care
or even
realize that 56,000,000 plus citizens of this country voted against
you and
your agenda. Still, you are going to continue your ruthless work of
being a
divider and not a uniter. George, in 2000 when you stole that election
and
the Democrats gave up, I gave up too. I had the most ironic thought of my
life then: "Oh well, how much damage can he do in four years?" Well, now I
know
how much you have damaged my family, this country, and this world. If
you
think I am going to allow you another four years to do even more damage,
then you
truly are mistaken. I will fight for a true vote count and if that
fails, your
impeachment. Also, the impeachment of your Vice President. The
only thing is,
I'm not politically savvy, and I don't have a Karl Rove to
plan my strategy,
but I do have a big mouth and a righteous cause, which
still mean something in
this country, I hope.
All of this lying,
fooling, and betraying must be “hard work” George. You
really think you know
what hard work is?
George, let me tell you what “hard work” really
is.
Hard work is seeing your oldest son, your brave and honorable
man-child go
off to a war that had, and still has, no basis in reality. Hard
work is worrying
yourself gray and not being able to sleep for 2 weeks
because you don’t know
if your child is safe.
Hard work is seeing
your son’s murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you’re
enjoying the last
supper you’ll ever truly enjoy again.
Hard work is having three military
officers come to your house a few hours
later to confirm the aforementioned
murder of your son…your first born…your
kind and gentle sweet
baby.
Hard work is burying your child 46 days before his 25th birthday.
Hard work
is holding your other three children as they lower the body of
their big
“baba” into the ground. Hard work is not jumping in the grave with
him and having
the earth cover you both.
But, Dear George, do you
know what the hardest work of all is? Trying to
digest the fact that the
leader of the country that your family has fought for and
died for, for
generations, lied to you and betrayed your dear boy’s sense of
honor and
exploited his courage and exploited his loyalty to his buddies. Hard
work is
having your country abandon you after they killed your son. Hard work
is
coming to the realization that your son had his future robbed from him and
that you have had your son's future and future grand-children stolen from
you. Hard work is knowing that there are so many people in this world that
have
prospered handsomely from your son's death.
George, I must
confess that I and my family worked very HARD to re-defeat you
this time,
but you refuse to stay defeated. Well, we are watching you very
carefully.
We are going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for
misleading the American people into a disastrous war and for mis-using and
abusing your power as Commander-in-Chief. We are going to scream until our
last
breath to bring the rest of our babies home from this quagmire of a war
that
you have gotten our country in to: before too many more families learn
the true
meaning of Hard Work. We know it is going to be an uphill battle,
knowing how
Republican Congress is, but thanks to you, we know the meaning
of Hard Work
and we’re not afraid of hard work at all.
The 56,000,000
plus citizens who voted against you and your agenda have given
me a mandate
to move forward with my agenda. Also, thanks to you and your
careless
domestic policies, I am unemployed, so this will be my full-time job.
Being
your political downfall will be the most noble accomplishment of my life
and
it will bring justice for my son and 1125 (so far) other brave Americans
and
tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis your lies have killed. By the way,
George, how many more innocent Iraqis are your policies going to kill before
you
convince them that you are better than Saddam? How many more of their
cities
are you going to level before you consider that they are liberated?
If you
really had any moral values, or if you were an honorable man at all
you would
resign. My son was a man who had high moral values and true
courage. Humanity lost
a bright light on April 04, 2004. I will live the
rest of my life missing
Casey desperately. Thank you for that, George. Have
a nice day.
God Bless America!! We surely need it!
Cindy
Sheehan
Broken hearted mother of a True American Hero: Spc Casey Austin
Sheehan, KIA
04/04/04 Sadr City, Baghdad
Cindy Sheehan's daughter Carly wrote the following
entitled
CARLY'S POEM - A Nation
Rocked to Sleep
Have you ever heard the sound of a mother
screaming for her son?
The torrential rains of a mother's weeping will never
be done
They call him a hero, you should be glad that he's one, but
Have
you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?
Have you
ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?
He must be brave
because his boy died for another man's lies
The only grief he allows himself
are long, deep sighs
Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back
his cries?
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your
brother's grave?
They say that he died so that the flag will continue to
wave
But I believe he died because they had oil to save
Have you ever
heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?
Have you ever
heard the sound of a nation being rocked to sleep?
The leaders want to keep
you numb so the pain won't be so deep
But if we the people let them continue
another mother will weep
Have you ever heard the sound of a nation being
rocked to sleep?

Bush Terror Machine Trumps
Reason
You've got to hand it to George Walker Bush. Everyone in the world
thought he was a moronic, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, mindless puppet
doing the bidding of his super-rich, neo-con, oil-soaked paymasters while paying
lip service to the concerns of the great unwashed.
Instead it turns out he's a political genius.
The American economy is going down the toilet. It has a budget
deficit ($4 trillion over the next 10 years) that would make Kim Jong Il blush.
Worryingly, China and Hong Kong have accumulated $177 billion of US debt, giving
the world's biggest dictatorship a great deal of economic power over the world's
richest democracy.
Vast amounts have been squandered on enormous tax cuts that
disproportionately favour the super-wealthy (the bottom 60% of US society got a
mere 14.7% of Bush's $1.6 trillion giveaway, while the richest 1% got more than
a third of the benefits). Meanwhile unemployment has rocketed. And for George,
healthcare is just another word that begins with "h", like "Iran". In short, the
ordinary American is getting royally shafted by the Bush
administration.
And yet Dubya persuaded the suckers to vote for him. The man's a
genius.
How'd he do it? Well, he made them scared. Not in the way he makes
us scared - by having his finger on the nuclear trigger while looking very dim
and slightly deranged - but by raising mythical bogeymen to terrify middle
America.
After the horrific attacks on the US on 11 September, 2001, the
Bush administration should have dedicated all its resources to hunting down
Osama bin Laden and his little helpers. Instead, after taking out the Taliban in
Afghanistan (a good move spoiled slightly by the chaotic mess that country is
currently in), Dubya decided to focus on Iraq: a country that had nothing to do
with 9/11.
Despite all the lies about weapons of mass destruction, al-Qaeda
training camps and uranium from Nigeria, Saddam Hussein was as great a threat to
the US as my mum. (Note to any neo-cons who might be reading: this means that
the Iraqi leader was not a threat at all. It does not mean you should
carpet-bomb my mum's house or have her deposed in a right-wing coup.)
Careful use of terror alerts have kept swing voters good and jumpy
so that they chose the "tough" George Dubya Bush over the "sane" John Kerry.
This despite the fact that the Iraq adventure has made America more of a
terrorist target than it was before and that American (and British) servicemen
are dying there at a frightening rate.
And yet Dubya persuaded the suckers to vote for him. The man's a
genius.
As a result we're in for an exciting four years of unfettered
neo-con crusading. Especially if you live in or near a member of the axis of
evil: Iran, North Korea, Palestine, Syria, Libya, Venezuela, the Pitcairn
Islands, France, San Francisco...
On the brighter side, US domestic policy's going to be dictated by
extreme fundamentalists so the colonials might as well tear up that precious
consitution of theirs and replace it with the Book of Leviticus.
And yet Dubya persuaded the suckers to vote for him. The man's a
genius. Truly, we "misunderestimated" him.

Mark Twain, after viewing a pre-emptive war in the Philippines

"Oh Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody

shrieks of their
wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their
